Privacy Policy — Botlight

Botlight helps Shopify merchants improve their visibility in AI-driven search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI) and search engines.

Data we process

Merchant data: store domain, app settings, plan status, AI credit usage. Store content: product titles, descriptions, images metadata and blog content, accessed via the Shopify API to run audits and generate content the merchant explicitly requests. Botlight does not process end-customer personal data.

AI processing

Content generation uses Google Gemini via API. Only product/store content selected by the merchant is sent for generation; no customer personal data is ever included. Generated content is stored with version history so the merchant can roll back.

Storage and retention

All data is stored in the EU (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt). On uninstall, all shop data is deleted within 48 hours via Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks.

Sharing and contact
